What is a SIP trunk, and how does it differ from VoIP lines?
A SIP trunk connects your existing PBX system to the public telephone network over the internet. Unlike hosted VoIP lines, you manage the PBX yourself — we provide the carrier connectivity and channels. This gives you full control over call routing, IVR, extensions and features.
Can I use my existing PBX hardware?
Yes. Any SIP-compatible PBX works — 3CX, FreePBX, Asterisk, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, Cisco, Avaya. Our team will provide the SIP credentials and configuration details for your specific system.
What does "unlimited" calls actually mean?
Unlimited means no per-minute charges on local (geographic 010/011/012 etc.) and national (087/086) calls within South Africa. International calls and premium numbers are charged separately at standard rates.
Can I have more than 8 channels?
Yes. Additional channels can be added to your account at any time. Contact our support team and we can provision additional capacity same day for most requests.
What is the SLA uptime guarantee?
We guarantee 99.9% uptime on the SIP trunk infrastructure. In the event of an outage, Priority Support customers receive immediate escalation to senior engineers with an SLA response time of under 1 hour.
How long does setup take?
For a straightforward SIP trunk configuration on an existing PBX, our engineers typically complete setup within 2–4 business hours of order confirmation. More complex environments may take longer — we'll give you an accurate timeline upfront.
